چکیده

Recently a perturbative theory has been constructed, starting from the Feynman rules of the nonlinear sigma model at the tree level in the presence of an external vector source coupled to the flat connection and of a scalar source coupled to the nonlinear sigma model constraint (flat connection formalism). The construction is based on a local functional equation, which overcomes the problems due to the presence (already at one loop) of non chiral symmetric divergences. The subtraction procedure of the divergences in the loop expansion is performed by means of minimal subtraction of properly normalized amplitudes in dimensional regularization. In this paper we complete the study of this subtraction procedure by giving the formal proof that it is symmetric to all orders in the loopwise expansion. We provide further arguments on the issue that, within our subtraction strategy, only two parameters can be consistently used as physical constants. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected]

A Comment on the Renormalization of the Nonlinear Sigma Model

We consider the recently proposed renormalization procedure for the nonlinear sigma model, consisting in the recursive subtraction of the divergences in a symmetric fashion. We compare this subtraction with the conventional procedure in power counting renormalizable (PCR) theories. We argue that symmetric subtraction in the nonlinear sigma model does not follow the lore by which nonrenormalizab...

Some results on the symmetric doubly stochastic inverse eigenvalue problem

‎The symmetric doubly stochastic inverse eigenvalue problem (hereafter SDIEP) is to determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for an $n$-tuple $sigma=(1,lambda_{2},lambda_{3},ldots,lambda_{n})in mathbb{R}^{n}$ with $|lambda_{i}|leq 1,~i=1,2,ldots,n$‎, ‎to be the spectrum of an $ntimes n$ symmetric doubly stochastic matrix $A$‎. ‎If there exists an $ntimes n$ symmetric doubly stochastic ...

Modeling Stock Return Volatility Using Symmetric and Asymmetric Nonlinear State Space Models: Case of Tehran Stock Market

Volatility is a measure of uncertainty that plays a central role in financial theory, risk management, and pricing authority. Turbulence is the conditional variance of changes in asset prices that is not directly observable and is considered a hidden variable that is indirectly calculated using some approximations. To do this, two general approaches are presented in the literature of financial ...

Buckling Behaviors of Symmetric and Antisymmetric Functionally Graded Beams

The present study investigates buckling characteristics of both nonlinear symmetric power and sigmoid functionally graded (FG) beams. The volume fractions of metal and ceramic are assumed to be distributed through a beam thickness by the sigmoid-law distribution (S-FGM), and the symmetric power function (SP-FGM). These functions have smooth variation of properties across the boundary rather tha...

Classically integrable boundary conditions for symmetric-space sigma models

We investigate boundary conditions for the nonlinear sigma model on the compact symmetric space G/H. The Poisson brackets and the classical local conserved charges necessary for integrability are preserved by boundary conditions which correspond to involutions which commute with the involution definingH. Applied to SO(3)/SO(2), the nonlinear sigma model on S2, these yield the great circles as b...
